  Dancers from Adventures in Dance flew to Las Vegas last Wednesday December 8th to compete in the Holiday Dance Classic. This was the concluding event for the Global series. We were all very excited to be going
  Thursday morning dancers took to the floor to strut their stuff and vie for the top placements. The feathers flew and everyone ended with personal bests. Charles Gilliam took 2nd in all his smooth single dance events. Craig took 2nd in the global championship. 
  Friday and Saturday were spent sightseeing as the other divisions kept on dancing. We found the neon sign bone yard, and took a ride on a zip line. We then wrapped it up going to see the jersey boys.
  Sunday morning came all to soon. With a 8am curtain call, we were polishing the floorboards as the sun came up. Each competition heat was danced better than the last, and everyone hit personal bests y the end of the day. Craig took 6th in the championship standard rounds. Celebrities from ”So You Think You Can Sing” and “Dancing with the Stars” concluded the evening with a musical review. This was a most memorable event!

Taking out of the trunk elegant evening wear and exciting masks, students from Adventures in dance took to the floor at St. Mary’s Saturday night. The Steve Christopher band Crooned tunes to dance to, and Holly did the mash , the monster mash and scared everyone with the Thriller line dance. We dined on finger foods and wines as we took turns turning around the floor. A great time was had by all. Stay tuned as St. Mary’s hosts the Valentines ball in February.

Haunting melodies and marvelous costumes graced the floor at Adventures in dance Saturday Oct 23 for the first annual Dinner Dance & Death. Getting into the spirit, students and staff dressed their best and worst, getting into the characters they had chose for Happily Never After. All your favorite storybook characters gathered at the invitation of Mr. Holmes to solve the mystery of who killed Scheherazade. Each character posed for a photo, then had a grand introduction with theme music. Dining over delectable delights, each character reveled leading information about each other. It unwound to a tangled confession from our practiced killer. Once the killer was put behind bars, achievements were presented. Mary Mattson & Steve Malinowski received her certificate for their Medal test. Then the teachers received their certificates for their certification. Havilah Davis, Jeremy Pyrc & Janet Jaecksch received their Jr. Associates Certification. Holly Collins received her Latin Associate. Check out the photos on the photo page for Adventures in Dance.
