I love weddings and often wonder why we do what we do. So in working with brides on their first dance, I wondered why the tradition of

I would hide my face too

Why wear a veil in an arranged marriage

wearing a veil. It just gets in the way when dancing at the reception.

Veil’s have a duel history. Some people believed that it was to ward off evil spirits. Others state that the veil was to make sure the arranged marriage went through before the couple could get a good look at each other.

Similar to why the bride and groom do not see each other the day of the wedding. Fowl spirits could arise if the arranged was cancelled.


Removing a veil for dancing is a good idea


Now Veil’s are a fun accessory to add to the look as the bride trips lovingly down the isle.
