Pikes Peak Dance Festival returns to Colorado Springs
On Saturday December 12th, Vladimir opened springs rhythm up for his first armature only completion, the Pikes Peak Dance Festival. Pikes Peak Dance sport Festival was previously a one day pro-am Event run by Richard Booth and Brad Ackerman. They ran it from 2002-2007. It has remained dormant since 2007.
Representing Adventures in Dance was Holly Collins as a Judge. And William Hooker danced with Robyn Collins as amateurs. They were full of energy and ready to compete when we arrived with the first snowflakes on Saturday. Their first set was International Latin dance. They warmed up with their single dances, the Samba, Cha-cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive. Then they were uncontested in the Latin Scholarship. They won all their Latin events.
Next they danced the International Ballroom Scholarship. Dave Bower and Silvia danced Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Quickstep against William and Robyn. William and Robyn took first in all dances.
Finally they competed in the American Smooth Scholarship. There were 3 couples entered in this four dance category. They danced the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz. William and Robyn took first in all dances.
We are very proud of how well William and Robyn danced. We are looking forward to seeing them compete again in February at the Denver Dance Jam. Until then, dance with happy feet.
