Where to dance in Denver and Littleton

mirror ball in Littleton south of Denver, north of Highlands Ranch, east of Centennial

I love live music and going out to dance with my family.  It has been an adventure going out to check out the offerings around town. From this I have been compiling a list of where to dance in Denver and Littleton.

Littleton clubs with dancing:

Q’s Pub and Grille: 10133 W. Chatfield Ave. Littleton, CO 80127ph: 303-973-2905. http://www.qspub.com/ .
This is a cozy supper club. The food is good and the entertainment is always top notch. As with most amplified music, they tend to play loud. But you can go just outside to the enclosed patio to mitigate volume. Q’s has a mid-sized semi-circle wood dancefloor in front of the bandstand.

D’s Tavern: 819 W. Littleton Blvd, Littleton CO 80120 303.798.1055 http://www.dstavern.com/ .
This is a lovely little restaurant and pool hall. The pizzas are great and the beer is cold. They bring in a variety of bands from country to classic rock. The volume can be loud or just right depending on the band. D’s clears tables on their tile floor for a good sized dance space (20×20) to encourage dancing.

The Platte River Bar and Grill5995 S Santa Fe Dr. Littleton, CO, 80120 T / (303) 798-9356 http://www.theplatte.com/ This is a great biker bar. It has great food and good service. They have live music outside on their patio in the summer. You can moderate volume by how close or far you sit from the band. Then duo’s inside in the winter. There is space to dance outside, but not much inside in the winter. They get some great groups in through the year.

Dancing in Denver:

Tony P’s: 777 E 17th Ave, Denver, CO 80203 303-839-3200 http://www.tonypspizza.com/ This is a great Italian restaurant in a historic building with lots of atmosphere.  They bring in fun funk and blues in their upstairs lounge. I have not experienced a volume issue there yet. The floor is polished hardwood and about 20×20.

Lincoln’s Roadhouse: 1201 S Pearl St Denver CO, 80210 303-777-3700 http://www.lincolnsroadhouse.com/ Located in the old pearl street district, this dive bar is almost a historic landmark. Serving hot Cajun food they bring in cool jazz and blues, and pack the house. The hardwood floor is just in front of the bandstand and is a cozy 12×15. The volume can get loud, but there are nooks and crannies that you can duck behind to kill some of the volume to have a conversation.

Jazz At Jack’s: 5000 16th St #320, Denver, CO 80202 (303) 433-1000 http://www.jazzatjacks.com/  They are located atop the Denver Pavilions, Featuring  the best funk, blues, oldies, reggae, and tribute shows. There is a small dance floor in front of the band. I found it was better to dance in the back. They had wine & bar bites atop the Denver Pavilions.
