Dancin’ at the Mansion Latin night January 2015 at the Highlands Ranch Mansion
It was a crisp night on Thursday January 28th as I drove up to the Highlands Ranch Mansion. The lights twinkled cheerfully in the windows of this historic mansion as I walked up the path to the front door. I was contracted to teach Latin dances for the Dancin’ at the Mansion Latin dance night, and it was a perfect night for dancing.
There was a crowd gathering as I plugged my music in and got ready to dance. To warm everyone up I taught a Bolero and International Rumba. As more dancers drifted in I sped it up to a Mambo and Salsa on 2. As the last of the 80 or so guests arrived, I changed tempos one more time for a Cha-Cha. Everyone had fun leaning to dance with their partners, and to dance with my students Rob Ayres, Larry & Sheryl Gray.
As I wrapped up the lesson, Suzanne Morales from Masterful Musicians took the stage with her hot Latin band. This Quartet rocked! They played rumbas, Salsa’s, and Cha-cha’s. On request, they even played a samba and a meringue! Everyone had a great time dancing, and when 9pm rolled around, the dancers were reluctant to leave.
This was a great event by the Highlands Ranch Mansion. Look for their future Dancin’ at the Mansion Events.
