Don’t you love to watch great dancing? We do at Adventures in dance. On Sunday April 10th students streamed into Adventures in Dance for their spring showcase. They donned their dancing duds and warmed up their routines. By 4:30 pm the first numbers took to the floor.
Rob Ayres kicked off the show with his Rumba cha-cha segue. This newcomer did a great job with his first showcase dancing to Santana, Love is you and Oye Como Va. Next up was Rebecca Heckman. On her bucket list was to dance to the Blue Danube by Strauss. She nailed her dream dance the Viennese waltz. Last in the first set was a seasoned dancer, Melvin Marcusson. He did a great job with his new/old Jive routine to Twist and Shout. It was a blast from his past, and a great sequence for him to remember.
Dancers took to the floor for a spin between sets. The second set took off with the dynamic duo of Jim and Linda Dunbar. They nailed their Tango-Viennese Waltz segue routine to Dance with me and Breakaway. Last we saw the mother daughter duo of Shayao and Sabrina McFarland. They danced a segue of west Coast Swing and Cha-cha to, Good to be Alive by Andy Grammer, a fun contemporary song.
After announcing awards, the staff did a show. Robyn and William danced their competition cha-cha to Perhaps. Then Holly and Craig danced a Viennese Waltz-Foxtrot Segue to Falling in Love Again. Robyn and William closed the show with their rousing Paso Doble.
