2016 USA Dance Denver Competition
Don’t you love seeing people succeed? I do. I was thrilled to see so many dancers succeeding at the May 2016 USA Dance Denver student competition.
The morning started with the international standard ballroom division. Couples gathered to strut their stuff for local teachers who donated their time to judge the dancing. Robyn Collins and William Hooker from Adventures in Dance took first place in the silver standard ballroom multi dance and scholarship.
Next was the international Latin division. Dancers from as far away as California got down on the dance floor to show off their progress. William and Robyn placed first in their silver Latin multi dance.
The Afternoon session began with the American smooth dance division. This was a large category with many dancers duking it out on the dancefloor for first place. There were 4 couples at the Silver level smooth competition. Robyn and William were sweating it out as they danced their best against all these wonderful dancers. They were thrilled to take first overall in the silver smooth multi-dance event.
The rest of the day continued with club dances and American rhythm dances. I was proud of how much progress all the dancers were making on perfecting their dancing. This is a warm event and a great place for amateur couples to try out competitions.
