Are you looking for a place to party? The Falls Event Center is the newest addition to wedding and event centers south of Denver. Located in Littleton, the Falls hosted its grand opening and ribbon cutting on August 18, 2016. I had the privilege of talking to Maggie Glass, the director of the Falls Events Center.
The Falls Event Center is a family run operation originating out of Utah, with a vision to open 15-25 centers nationally. The Littleton Falls Event center is the first of 3 planned for Colorado. With easy access from US Hwy. 85 (Santa Fe) and C-470, ample parking and lodging, as well as light rail access the Falls Event Center has a Fabulous location.
The Falls event center has 3 event rooms and a patio, sporting stunning views of the Rocky Mountains from each of the ballrooms and patio. The main hall seats 300, the large conference room seats 150, and the small conference room seats 90. To complete the experience there is a game room with several flat screen TV’s, pool tables, and couches. The game room doubles as a groom room on wedding day. And let’s not forget the brides room, A beautiful room with ample lighting, mirrors and a lovely chaise lounge.
The Falls Event Center has a unique approach to hosting weddings and events, they have an open vendor policy. What this means for weddings and events is that you can bring in your own food and beverages. The open vendor policy creates flexibility for all types of events, from ethnic style to any unique format you may be looking to enjoy. It opens endless possibilities for designing your own personalized wedding.
With all the freedom to plan the wedding of your dreams, Maggie noted some important things to consider. Maggie had 3 expert tips to consider for couples planning their wedding at the Falls Event Center.
Maggie’s top 3 tips for a fabulous Falls event:
- Think about the Food-
Traditionally a wedding is going to have catering staff to help present and serve the food, as well as clear the plates. With the open vendor policy, you want to think seriously about which vendor you choose for the food, and how you want the food presented. In the event that you are not going with a traditional caterer it is vital that you think about how you staff your event. The last thing you want is to be working your wedding!! And you wouldn’t want your family or wedding party working the party either. So, think about how you plan to staff your event.
- Think about the Drink-
At The Falls, you are welcome to provide your own beverages for your event. However, The Falls requires that you bring in a bartender who has liability insurance to serve alcoholic beverages. The bartender can serve the alcohol that you provide, but you must provide a bartender.
- Think about your Rehearsal-
Traditionally everybody would get married on Saturday and they would go to the church Friday night, practice the ceremony and go to your rehearsal dinner that evening. However, times have changed, and the Falls has events frequently, and is not always available for a full ceremony dress rehearsal. You can certainly get creative on how you handle your dress rehearsal. If you have a good floor plan for your event, you can do your dress rehearsal in an alternative location. Some creative rehearsal options are to set up your ceremony in a back yard, or a large room according to the floor plan. Then your bridesmaids and groomsmen will be able to get the timing down and remember which order they’re supposed to stand in. You are now free of worry over the availability of the event center the night before your wedding
