5 Surprise Wedding Dance Entertainment Ideas
Being surprised stands out. If your cat jumps out at you or unexpected flowers are delivered, you remember these for a long time. Surprises at a wedding can stand out from the ordinary. Our dancers at Adventures in Dance have had the opportunity to bring dancing surprises to weddings and events. Here are some of the ways to add surprise dance entertainment to your wedding.
5 Surprise Wedding Dance Entertainment Ideas
- Surprise first Dance:
Wedding couples can really get the party started with a surprise first dance. Watching the high school sway is just not exciting. But a when a couple learns to dance and surprises their guests with a great routine, it makes memories.
- Surprise Father-Daughter dance:
Some Dads wouldn’t dance for their wedding, but pull out all the stops for their daughters. Some of the great Father-Daughter daces I have put together are Octopuses Garden, the Waltz from the Live Action Cinderella, a mash-up of Viennese Waltz and hustle. Dads coming out to sweep their daughter’s off their feet is awe inspiring.
- Surprise Wedding Party Flash Mob:
Getting your wedding party together for a flash mob line dance is fun and entertaining. I have put together line dances like country and Thriller, family partner dances like swings and hustles, and custom choreography that is unique to a wedding theme.
- Surprise Reception Dance lessons
Do you have a shy group that does not usually dance? Hire a teacher to come in and break the Ice with onsite dance lessons. Once everyone knows what to do the floor will stay full all night. One time that stuck out to me was at Spruce Mountain Ranch. We were hired as a surprise act to dance a Paso-Doble and present a Sombrero to the wedding couple. After our performance, we taught simple mixer and line dances. The floor stayed packed all night.
- Surprise Dance Performers
Hire dancers to perform at your wedding. You could reflect your heritage like Irish dance, Salsa, or Ballroom dance. We recently danced as Beauty and the Beast for a wedding. It was a surprise gift from the Groom to the Bride. Following the dance, Guests took pictures with Belle and Beast, then Belle helped guests line dance. It was a memorable experience.
