Adventures In Dance has competed at the Denver Dance Jam since it’s creation. This year we were proud to bring many of our dancers. Ballroom dancers at the Denver Dance Jam included Melvin Marcusson, Jessica Virgo, Sabrina McFarland, Noah Wells-Alirez, Robyn Collins, and William Hooker.

Melvin Rhythm and Smooth dance

Melvin started off the day with the American rhythm dances. He took all first places in his cha-cha, rumba, samba, bolero, and swing. Organizer Richard Booth even warned dancers to watch out for Melvin’s mambo. It was one hot number.

Next Melvin danced his silver American smooth. He took to the floor with his Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango and Viennese Waltz. Mel did a great job and took first in all his dances.

Jessica Standard dance

Jessica Virgo had all new gold international standard dances. She danced her Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep in the afternoon, and again for the multi dance and scholarship in the evening. She took first in all her dances.

New Youth dance

We were very excited about the new youth partnership of Sabrina McFarland and Noah Wells-Alirez. They danced a bronze international Samba and Jive. They were thrilled to take first in both dances.

Robyn & William Dance

Returning champions Robyn Collins and William Hooker had new routines for the Denver Dance Jam. Robyn and William debuted their new gold international standard routines in Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep. Then they danced their novice Latin Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. We were proud when they took first in all their dances.

Staff dance

Staff from Adventures in dance were invited to perform in the professional show. They presented their history of Viennese waltz through the Disney princesses. They started with Pocahontas ”Pavanne & La Volta,” then Rapunzel ”Landler,” Cinderella “Varsovienne”, and ended with Anastasia “American Viennese Waltz”.

The Denver dance jam is a great local event. It is the perfect event for new students to try out competition. All our dancers had fun with old and new friends. Ask how you can join us next year.
