Dancers Compete at USA dance in May

Our future lies with our youth. The future ballroom and Latin champions will be today’s youth. Adventures in dance is committed to promoting ballroom and Latin dance youth dancing. This spring 4 of our young students competed at the USA dance Denver competition in Latin dance.

Youth Latin competitors

Many of our youth went to the USA dance Denver competition this spring. Representing Adventures in dance were Noah Wells-Allirez, Kylie Chenault, Jaydon and Kaylie Purvis to compete on Saturday May 19th at the Denver Turnverein. Dressed in their Sunday best they took to the floor to show off their moves. They all danced their little hearts out.

They competed in the international Latin division. The youth danced their Samba, Cha-cha, Rumba, and Jive. Because they study together they changed partners to dance all their dances a second time. All of them placed well for their first competition. We look forward to great things in the future.

Of all the youth, Noah Wells-Allirez had the opportunity to dance at the adult level as well. He danced his advanced bronze Latin dances with Robyn Collins. They placed first in all dances.

Kevin rhythm Latin dance

Other students joined in the competition fun. Newcomer Kevin Strawn debuted his American rhythm dances with Jessica Virgo.  He danced his Cha-cha, Rumba and Swing. He did a great job for his first event.

USA dance Denve paso doble

Jessica Virgo rocked her dances. Dancing with William Hooker Jessica kicked off the morning with her gold standard ballroom dances Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Quickstep. Next, she danced with William her silver international Latin Samba, Cha-cha, Rumba, and Jive.

Burning the floor was the young couple Robyn Collins and William Hooker. They danced their Gold international ballroom dances first. Next Robyn and William danced their American smooth ballroom dances. William and Roby took first in their silver smooth scholarship.  Then later they danced their Silver international Latin dances and their Gold Paso Doble. They then took first in their Latin scholarship.

Everyone had a great time dancing. Parents and students were inspired to work toward dancing at the next USA dance competition. We look forward to more fun next time.
