Indian Inspired Wedding Dance

Weddings reflect each person’s unique style. Recently Indian inspired weddings have risen in popularity. My wedding dance couple Andy and Andrea tied the knot with their own Indian inspired wedding.

Blended wedding

Andy is from India by birth, and Andrea is part Indian. When they fell in love at work, they decided to incorporate their Indian heritage into their wedding. They wanted a blended cultural wedding that reflected their joy in vibrant colors.

East meets west wedding gown

Andrea created her own blended gown. She chose a “lehenga” style with a long blouse. Then she added a western mermaid skirt with net petticoat. Bur her creativity did not stop there. She was drawn to colorful Indian wedding colors, so Andrea commissioned from India a vibrant red and antique gold adorn her gown. Over the shoulder draped a beaded “dupatta” shawl that wrapped around her back to lay in the crook of her arm. Overall her wedding dress looked stunning and unique while mixing with her heritage.

Indian accessories

Adorned like an Indian princess, Andrea accessorized with Indian touches as well. Sparkly bracelets accentuated her femininity from her wrists while “Tikka” jewels crowned her forehead and hairline. The perfect topper for an Indian wedding.

Groom’s Attire

With the bridal attire complete, it was time to focus on the groom. Andy was attired in gold and red, a real favorite color combination for Indian weddings. So, Andrea found a long gold coat and red “shalwar” pants to compliment her dress. Andy’s sons got a similar treatment with long gold coats and red “shalwar” pants.

Reception location

Such colorful clothes needed the perfect setting. The Manor House (link) in Littleton was the perfect backdrop for the perfect day. This 1914 historic colonial house is a stunning reception location hidden in Ken Caryl valley. Poised on the picture-perfect setting Andy and Andrea made a colorful commitment to one another.

Dressed in their Indian wedding garb, Andy and Andrea chose a traditional western song and dance. “The way you look tonight” by crooner Frank Sinatra was the backdrop for their dance. Working for three months to perfect their first dance, Foxtrot, was time well spent. Andrea could relax in Andy’s arms as they danced for the first time as man and wife.

Staycation

After the wedding the happy couple opted for a staycation. They took time to visit with friends and family following the happy event. The look forward to planning a honeymoon later on in their marriage.
