Travel to New Orleans

Pre-dawn on Thursday June 27th our fearsome foursome headed to Denver international airport to take off for New Orleans. While on the moving walkway Robyn and Bill practiced their dancesport moves. Following an uneventful flight, bags were tucked safely into the rental and we headed into New Orleans.

New Orleans Bus tour

With time to sight see, we hoped onto a hop on hop off bus tour. The bus guide was fun and entertaining, telling us about New Orleans history as the double decker buss trundled down the street. At noon we hopped off for a classic white tablecloth and linens lunch at the palace café. After lunch we hopped back on the bus to the garden district with the only public graveyard. Back on the bus for a walking tour of the French quarter. After dinner we headed to our hotel for a good night rest for our first day of competition.

They took to the floor with a flourish for novice and pre-championship smooth dances, waltz, tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz. They placed 2nd in novice and 4th in pre-championship smooth. It was a great day of dancing and to celebrate we went downtown to explore bourbon street.
